Storm misses Lake Minnetonka, hits Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, and Minneapolis

In case you missed it last night, there was a pretty serious storm that rolled through our area last evening.  Several of the Wayzata Yacht Club sailors were out on Lake Minnetonka last night when the first wave of hot humid air rolled through the area.  There was some electricity in the air, combined with the dying wind caused most of the sailors to call it quits around 7:00 pm.

Here are some photos of Lake Minnetonka before the storm got serious in Minneapolis.

Other areas around us were not so fortunate: Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Golden Valley, Elk River and Minneapolis were hit with some pretty substantial hail during the peak of the storm.

Jeff Shore and I were over having drinks at the Muni a little bit later, and the Twins game on the TV was being delayed because of the hail storm that hit Minneapolis.  Here is a story and video from the Minnesota Twins website.  Jeff and I dashed outside to see a huge cloud billowing into the sky that one could tell was responsible for dropping hail in downtown Minneapolis.

It was really goofy, because no one was expecting a storm like this to go rolling through.

There were sun showers, heavy down pours, and more.  I would hate for that hail to have hit my car or house, and just thinking about all the damage it may have caused causes me to shudder.

Did you see anything spooky or different last night as that storm rolled through?  Let us know in the comments section below, and email any photos you might have to
