18th Annual Empty Bowls Charity Event

The Wayzata Art Department will be hosting the 18th Annual Empty Bowls event 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in Wayzata High School’s Culinary Express. A handmade bowl may be purchased for a suggested $10 donation and includes soup and bread. The proceeds will benefit Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners.

Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners is a nonprofit organization that works to assist those with financial and other life challenges. According to their Web site, they respond to people’s basic needs for food, housing, child care, employment, transportation and connections to community resources.

During the event, bowls created by District Board and Administrative staff members with Advanced Pottery students will be up for bidding during a silent auction. Bowls created by high school students and staff will also be for sale during the event.

Tickets are available at Interfaith Outreach Office in Wayzata, Wayzata High School’s Activities Office, the 2nd floor office at WHS and the CES office at Central Middle School.

The Wayzata High School Art Department will also be sponsoring a food drive. Bring a perishable food item along to help benefit Interfaith Outreach.
