After a tough one-run loss to the Hopkins Royals last Friday, the Wayzata softball team needed to bounce back on Monday. Senior pitcher Anna Twinem made sure that would happen by throwing a no-hitter as the Trojans rolled to a 10-0 victory over the Edina Hornets. Twinem struck out 10 Hornets and walked only one in the game.
The win moves the Trojans to 10-4 overall and 5-4 in the Classic Lake Conference. The Trojans have three conference games remaining as they look to position themselves for a high seed in the section tournament.
While Twinem was working her magic in the pitcher’s circle on Monday, she also turned out to be the Trojans’ most dangerous hitter at the plate. Twinem went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI. Nina Ferguson also had a big day at the plate by going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
Up next for the Trojans is a home game against Robbinsdale Armstrong at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.
