Any concerned citizen of Wayzata should plan to attend the city council meeting on May 5th. The city plans to eliminate one police officer yet is going to keep the newly hired assistant city enginner and assistant building inspector who were hired for the Bay Center project and the massive new building in town. Well, the project is on hold until who knows when new building is pretty much at a stand still. Why keep these positions yet lay off a cop? Doesn\’t make sense to me. And, the Municipal bar is taking no hits. Why the city is in the bar and restaurant business is beyond me. I\’d hate to have a restaurant in town and have to compete against the city. If it\’s to make money maybe they should open a grocery store or a gas station. If you\’re concerned please call your council members and attend the May 5th meeting. The only council member who has expressed a desire to keep the police officer is Andrew Mullin. Thanks Andrew!Jim WilsonWayzata
