Orono Schools has posted a notice on it’s website that it will be closed on Monday, May 4th. All of this is way too close for comfort for the residents and students here in the Wayzata School District. Here is the statement from Orono’s website in it’s entirety:
Important message from Orono Schools – All Schools Closed on May 4, 2009
All Orono Schools will be closed Monday, May 4, all day, and all activities are cancelled. Orono High School has a probable case of H1N1 novel influenza virus. Superintendent Karen Orcutt was notified late on Saturday, May 3 by the Department of Health and the Commissioner of Education in a conference call. Based on the recommendation of the Department of Health we are closing all schools for a full day, pending further information and confirmation of the status of this probable case. Students, staff and parents should not come to any school on Monday. All activities are cancelled in all buildings. We recommend that students stay home on Monday and avoid congregating. There is no need for panic, rather an abundance of caution. Questions should be directed to the Minnesota Dept. of Health website www.health.state.mn.us. We will also post any updated information on this website.
Additionally, a number of local media outlets are reporting that all Orono Schools will be closed on Monday due to concerns that two people connected with the institutions may possibly have H1N1 (Swine) Flu. Check the links for all the details:
