The Wayzata baseball team lost its second straight game on Wednesday afternoon, and in the process slipped below the .500 mark at 3-4 on the season. Hill-Murray outlasted the Trojans in an offensive battle as the Pioneers escaped with a 9-8 victory.
Three of the Trojans’ four losses this season have been by two runs or less.
The Trojans had plenty of offense as they banged out 13 hits in the game. Senior Trent Holmquist led the Trojans at the plate by going 4 for 4 with two RBI’s. Junior Zack Trygstad went 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Senior Troy Beckman 2 for 3 with two RBI’s and a run scored. Senior Billy Soule went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.
The Trojans will be in search of their fourth win of the season on Friday, April 24 when they host Minnetonka at 4:30 p.m.
