The high school spring sports season will begin in earnest this afternoon as several Wayzata teams will be in action.

The Wayzata boys’ tennis team will begin its quest for a return trip to the state tournament with its first match of the season today at 4 p.m. against Orono.
The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams will also be in action this afternoon. The girl’s team will host Edina and Hopkins, while the boy’s team will face the same two opponents at Edina.
The girls’ softball team will begin its regular season on Wednesday when it travels to Edina for a 4:15 p.m. start.
The boys’ baseball team will have to wait until Saturday to take the field for the first time. The Trojans will host Benilde-St. Margaret’s at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
