CITY OF WAYZATA: Water Treatment Plant & Underground Storage Update

From the City of Wayzata:

The City Council approved the Water Treatment Plant & Underground Storage project at a council meeting held on February 17, 2009 at City Hall. The new plant and underground storage will be located adjacent to the existing water tower on Park Street.

The contractor, Municipal Builders, Inc. will be finishing up completing the contract documents and preparing for a Pre-Construction meeting tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 26th.

The contractor plans to move heavy equipment on site beginning Monday, February 23rd, to avoid dealing with road restrictions.

No work will commence until after the pre-construction meeting is held and a Notice to Proceed has been sent by the City to the Contractor.

The Bell Tennis Courts will be closed for all of 2009 due to the project activity near the courts.

The Wayzata Middle School Tennis Courts will be available in the spring till June 4th only by scheduling play time by calling Public Works at 952-404-5360 and asking for Parks Superintendent Sonny Clark. We will have the schools tennis court schedule and book requested play time around the school’s schedule. After June 4th, the Wayzata Middle School Tennis Courts will be open to the public and may also be reserved by calling Public Works at the number listed above.

Project related questions can be addressed by calling Dave Dudinsky at Wayzata Public Works at 952-404-5360.
