The City Council approved the Water Treatment Plant & Underground Storage project at a council meeting held on February 17, 2009 at City Hall. The new plant and underground storage will be located adjacent to the existing water tower on Park Street.
The contractor, Municipal Builders, Inc. will be finishing up completing the contract documents and preparing for a Pre-Construction meeting tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 26th.
The contractor plans to move heavy equipment on site beginning Monday, February 23rd, to avoid dealing with road restrictions.
No work will commence until after the pre-construction meeting is held and a Notice to Proceed has been sent by the City to the Contractor.
The Bell Tennis Courts will be closed for all of 2009 due to the project activity near the courts.
