Invitations have been mailed for the Wayzata High School Gala evening March 7 at the Sheraton Hotel Minnetonka. You are encouraged to attend to support this major fundraiser.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Use the invitation RSVP response card or order your tickets online. Go to http://www.wayzata.k12.mn.us/whs and click on the Gala link. Tickets are $50 each and may be purchased with a credit card for online payments. Tables of up to 10 can be pre-arranged.
The evening’s program will be hosted by special guest emcee and Plymouth resident, Tim McNiff of KARE 11.
The silent auction will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. with a short program following – then, dancing to live music from the always popular UNBRIDLED, a Wayzata parent rock band. A dinner/hors d’oeuvres buffet and cash bar will be available all night long.
This event raises funds to benefit Academics, Arts, Activities and Athletic programs for students. In years past, the Gala has raised an average of $60,000 or more which allows students, who otherwise would not be able, to participate in these programs. Revenue from the Gala will always be applied to the following year’s needs.
A large portion of the money raised is disbursed through the high school’s Fund-A-Need Program to provide students with financial need, the opportunity to receive supplies, project money, lessons, clothing, calculators and items they could not otherwise afford. These funds are disbursed under the direction of Y.E.S. Director, Mary Kay Williams, the WHS Counselors and Social Workers, based upon input from our staff regarding student need.
What a wonderful gift from the community to extra-curricular activities – the second half of a quality educational program. For more information, to donate an item,
