WAYZATA CRIME PREVENTION COALITION: Please Support Police Reserves

Written by Officer Vanderheiden – Reserve Unit Coordinator

The Wayzata Police Reserves are comprised of both local citizens and college level law enforcement students who volunteer their time and talents. They work together to assist the Wayzata Police Department with the many events that take place in our city each year, as well as assist with enforcement of parking regulations. Without the Reserve Officers, the events wouldn’t “come off without a hitch” so to speak. It should also be noted that without the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition, the Reserve Unit would not be in existence, as they are the primary source of funding for the program.

The WCPC has donated money for everything from uniforms to equipment. Their support is necessary to keep the program operational, and obviously without their support the program would end. Any business or individual who would like to donate to the WCPC is encouraged to do so. Also, for anyone who is interested in being a Police Reserve Officer, we are always seeking motivated local citizens who are willing to join our group. Applications can be picked up at the Wayzata Police Department. Thank you for your support.

If you would like more information on the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition, or would like to make a donation, please contact Dave Herzuck at 952-473-1515.
