WAYZATA ATHLETICS 2009: Boys Basketball and Girls Hockey in Action Tonight

The Wayzata boys basketball and girls hockey teams will be in action tonight, while the girls basketball and boys hockey teams have the night off.

The boys basketball team will be heavily favored tonight when they host the Eagan Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. The Trojans are 12-2 on the season, while the Wildcats recently broke a seven game losing streak to improve to 4-11 on the season.

The Trojans won back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday by defeating St. Paul Central 71-59 and Milwaukee Lutheran 67-55. Tonight’s game against Eagan is the Trojans’ final tune-up game before they open Classic Lake Conference play on Friday at Minnetonka.

Girls Hockey Looking for First Conference Victory

The Wayzata girls hockey team will be looking to snap a six game losing streak tonight and at the same time pick up their first Classic Lake Conference victory of the season.

The Trojans will take their 6-13-1 record to Minnetonka tonight for a 7 p.m. game at the Pagel Ice Arena.

The Trojans are 0-4 in Classic Lake Conference play including a 5-0 loss to Minnetonka earlier in the season on Jan. 6.

The Trojans are led by senior forward Alison Umland who has 10 goals and 14 assists on the season.
