The fourth annual Soul Food Dinner at Wayzata High School will be held Monday, February 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
The dinner is sponsored by WHS members of the club Raising Awareness for Respect and Equality (RARE). Following the dinner at 7 p.m. will be a production of “Daughters of Africa” presented by the Mixed Blood Theater. The suggested donation for the dinner and performance is $5 per person or a maximum of $20 for families of four or more. Contributions to RARE will also be accepted.
The performance is a musical that encompasses three centuries in the lives of African American women from slave women to Oprah. The musical features songs from Bessie Smith, Aretha Franklin, Lena Horne and Beyonce.
