WAYZATA FOOTBALL 2008: All-Metro Team Awards

The Star Tribune has named it’s All-Metro Teams in football today. Wayzata student athletes making the grade are as follows:

FIRST TEAM
Cecil Doe – Wayzata – Sr. WR “Great size and speed. Very fluid, uses his body well, excellent hands. Had 21 catches for 546 yards and seven TDs.
Rob Bathe – Wayzata – Sr. OL “Dominated his tackle position. Quick off the ball, rarely allows a sack. Excellent leverage and does not allow opponents to speed rush outside.”
Kevin Potas – Wayzata – Sr. DE “Enters the state championship game with 26 tackles for a loss and 18 sacks, making him one of the metro area’s most fearsome pass rushers. Also has for forced fumbles.”
THIRD TEAM
Bennet Rustad – Wayzata – Sr. OL
Tobi Okuyemi – Wayzata – Jr. DL
Grant Olson – Wayzata – Sr. LB
Other notables from outside Wayzata:
Anders Lee, the senior QB from Edina was chosen as Player of the Year. James Paterson, senior QB from Blaine made the first team offense. Marcus Williams, a senior wide receiver from Hopkins, and Varmah Sonie, a senior defensive back from Apple Valley also made it.
