The Sun Sailor is reporting that two individuals who have been linked to car-thefts at the Wayzata Yacht Club from early August were recently arrested. Here is a direct quote from the article:
“Malissa Mae Oquin, 31 of Minneapolis, was arrested Oct. 7 by Moundsview Police on a separate check forgery case and charged Oct. 8 with financial transaction card fraud – a felony that carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
McKenzie Lee Schafer, 28 of Fridley, was arrested on Sept. 5 in Anoka County and also charged with financial transaction card fraud on Sept. 10 in connection with the break-ins.”
According to the article, purses were taken and credit cards were used. Video and still shot photography show pictures of the women visiting ATM’s and retailers at almost identical times to the times the cards were being used.
