WAYZATA CRIME PREVENTION COALITION: Fall 2008 Letter from the President

It has been my privilege to be able to serve as the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition President in 2008. This is my second term as President the first was back in 1996. I really enjoy being involved in such a great organization.

This organization is run by many very dedicated volunteers, please see the Board of Directors on the front page. The WCPC board, comprised of residents and business people, helps Wayzata be more pleasant and a safer place for all of us.
This years’ National Night Out day was a huge success. It started with our luncheon and Congressman Jim Ramstad was our guest speaker. We presented the Jim Fish Award to Wayzata Fire Chief Kevin Klapprich. Then at 6:00 p.m. we headed out and visited 20 neighborhood watch groups with McGruff leading the police cars and fire trucks. It was a fantastic day.
The WCPC has sponsored Identity Theft Seminars, AARP Driving Safety Courses, computer safety classes, Child ID kits, Block Captain training for our Neighborhood Watch Program, and we had McGruff show up at many functions like the JJ Hills Day Parade. This year we also had a Dunk Tank on Lake Street during JJ Hill Days to help Wayzata celebrate this fun event.
Whether you provide support to the Wayzata Crime Prevention Coalition as a New Years resolution or as a demonstration of good citizenship, your help in any form will be appreciated.
