5 Eyewitness News is reporting:
Wayzata Firefighters responded to a 911 call at about 5:00 this morning in the 400 block of Bushaway Road in Wayzata. The home had at one time belonged to Virginia Piper, who was kidnapped in 1972 and held for a $1,000,000 ransom, the largest ever at that time.
The Anderson family has occupied the home for the last 21 years. They believe a fire in the fire place yesterday started the fire. When interviewed on 5 Eyewitness news, Audrey Anderson was extremely thankful, and had refused to turn on the heat opting for a fire instead.
According to the same report, the fire was contained in the attic of the home.
