Mayor Andrew Humphrey will not seek another term as Mayor for the City of Wayzata, Minnesota.
The following text is a letter to the editor from Andrew Humphrey:
September 4th, 2008
To the editor:
I have decided not to seek re-election as Mayor of the City of Wayzata.
This was not an easy decision. I have been truly honored to serve as Mayor of such a fine town, and have really enjoyed my service. Working with a strong Council, a great City staff, and many exceptional volunteers, I also feel we have accomplished much. However, increasing work responsibilities and a desire to spend more time with my children before they are grown, have led me to my decision.
This decision has been especially hard because of the strong support and encouragement I have received from so many people. I have been both flattered and humbled by this, and I am deeply appreciative. It has been my privilege to serve as Mayor, and I look forward to contributing to the community in different ways going forward.
Andrew Humphrey
