A Wayzata man with income in six and seven figures has been charged with failing to file state tax returns and trying to evade taxes from 2003 to 2007.
Michael Joseph Fitzgibbons, 52, is facing 10 felony counts: five of willful failure to file an income tax return and five of willful failure to remit a tax.
With penalties, Fitzgibbons owes the state $433,527.92, according to the criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court.
