The Pioneer Press has an article about the Former Minneapolis Cop and Wayzata Alum Timothy Carson being formally charged by a grand jury on one count of bank robbery and a weapons charge.  Here is an excerpt from the story, as well as a link to the full article:

Dressed in a ski mask and dark jacket, Minneapolis police officer Timothy Edward Carson brandished a .40-caliber semiautomatic Beretta handgun when he held up a Wells Fargo bank in Apple Valley on Jan. 6, according to federal charges.

The charges state Carson made out with $4,580 from the three frightened bank tellers and then drove off — into the sunset of his career as a cop.

A federal grand jury this week indicted Carson, 28, of Rosemount, on one count of bank robbery and a firearms violation.

The former Minneapolis SWAT team member and Iraq war veteran had previously been charged with bank robbery, giving authorities the legal power to hold him following his Jan. 6 arrest. The formal indictment filed Wednesday moves the case forward, said Jeanne Cooney, spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Minneapolis.
