The following post is from Wayzata Community Church:
Dear WCC Family,
As members of the human family, we have all felt deep sadness since a devastating earthquake rocked Haiti early this week. The massive loss of life and shelter is uniting our world in remarkable and inspiring ways.
Here are at least three ways that you can respond immediately:
Prayer…The prayer room, in the hallway between Founders Hall and the church office, is open during regular building hours for personal prayer. A public Community Prayer Service is being planned for Monday, January 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Music, prayers and candlelighting will be open to all who wish to come.
Action…
The Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley is working with Feed My Starving Children to package 1,000,000 meals for the hungry and homeless of Haiti. We are familiar with this organization and their format, and the work begins this Saturday. To learn more and to sign up, click here:

Support…
To expedite the process of getting funds where they are most needed, we are directing people to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund of the United Church of Christ. Through existing relationships we can have an immediate, positive impact. To learn more, click here: www.ucc.org
Members of our church were already destined for a mission trip to Haiti later this month. While that effort has been delayed, we will look to them and our Board of Mission & Outreach to determine and lead us in how we will best support our existing twenty-five year relationships in Haiti (St. Joseph’s Home for Boys, Wings of Hope, and Haiti Gardens).
As we consider the deep sadness, profound loss, and urgent need of our neighbors to the south, let us join together as a community in prayer, action, and support.
Peace,
John F. Ross
Senior Minister
